today we:

~ played outside enjoying the beautiful, cool weather, until we noticed the hornets swarming by their underground nest.
~ completed one more lesson in singapore math, which means we are done with the 1st unit lesson.
~ looked at maps of ancient greece online. pointed out the oceans, and nearby countries.
~ worked on copywork & our scripture memory for the week.
~ read about the saints commemorated on this day.
~ sang songs, had a silly music time, and a lot of time for free play.


this evening was our first meeting for a new co-op we are joining this year. i feel much more at peace about it. it will be an adjustment, for sure, but i think it will be good for us.

today we:

~ sang some songs & danced during circle time
~ reviewed some lessons in singapore math that we did earlier in the summer
~ took a walk outside, paying attention to the weather & any treasures to bring in to add to our table for the day
~ read together our scripture memory for the week & noah used this for copy work practice
~ read about the beheading of st. john the baptist, lit candles & venerated his icon
~ read the 1st story in h.a. guerber's book "the story of the ancient greeks"
~ jonah looked at one of his first readers & i read it to him. we talked about the pictures & a little phonics.
~ took *first day of school* pictures


it's been a productive first day~! a little tricky trying to keep ruby occupied at certain times, but i think with a tiny bit of planning on my part this could be much easier.
