31.8.11 - 1.9.11

these last two days i have been sick, so no school work! very grateful to have a schedule that can be worked around illnesses. today we are starting back, slowly, with some copywork & math review. during ruby's naptime i will read aloud to the boys.

30.8.11

today we:

~ played outside enjoying the beautiful, cool weather, until we noticed the hornets swarming by their underground nest.
~ completed one more lesson in singapore math, which means we are done with the 1st unit lesson.
~ looked at maps of ancient greece online. pointed out the oceans, and nearby countries.
~ worked on copywork & our scripture memory for the week.
~ read about the saints commemorated on this day.
~ sang songs, had a silly music time, and a lot of time for free play.


this evening was our first meeting for a new co-op we are joining this year. i feel much more at peace about it. it will be an adjustment, for sure, but i think it will be good for us.

the beginning.

Monday begins our *official* homeschooling journey! I feel the undercurrent of excitement running through my veins. We will celebrate the beginning of our official time learning with a special breakfast, & maybe a few surprises throughout the day.

& there will be cupcakes, of course!
